Rosemary Galton

Rosemary Galton’s performance ... is stylish and expressive

  • Johan van Veen, Music Web International

British soprano Rosemary Galton is a versatile musician with a keen interest in historically informed performance. She sings regularly with the Huelgas Ensemble, one of Europe’s leading early music ensembles, and with the professional choir of the London Oratory. She also works on an ad-hoc basis with groups such as the Gabrieli Consort, the choir of the OAE, and Arcangelo. Rosemary was a founder member of early music group Poeticall Musicke, with whom she has recorded several albums, and produced performing editions of various lesser known works from the 16th and 17th centuries.

An alumna of Clare College Cambridge, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and the Morley College Opera School, Rosemary now studies privately with Mhairi Lawson. When not singing or creating websites she enjoys baking sourdough bread and improving her gardening skills.
